Worldwide Protests Against Passes & Mandates Continue Into 2022

Starting as relatively isolated protests in the middle of 2021, marches are now taking place regularly in many countries around the world against the imposition of vaccine passports and mandates. Protest participants number in the many thousands, running contrary to official government propaganda that only tiny minorities within each country oppose the restrictions.

The protests have escalated over the Christmas-New Year period. This coincides with some countries changing the definition of being “fully vaccinated” to require 1st, 2nd or subsequent booster shots (i.e. 3rd or more covid shots in total) to remain in compliance with passports or mandates, in the lead-up to the holiday period.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Several thousand people demonstrated on New Year’s Day against social restrictions and the “health pass” in Amsterdam despite the ban on the demonstration by the authorities. Official news media AFP initially reported “a few dozen” protestors.

People who are not classified as “fully vaccinated” have been segregated and face new restrictions.

The protest was not well-received by the authorities, as batons and police dogs were used against the protest participants.

Brussels, Belgium

Vienna, Austria

Austria introduced the most severe restrictions on those that classified as “unvaccinated” in mid-November. Bloomberg reports that “The unvaccinated are already barred from most areas of life, including non-essential shopping, hotels and restaurants, and need regular testing to enter their workplace.

The Austrian government imposed new travel restrictions that came into effect on 20 December. To enter Austria, the “2-G+” rule is currently in place. In addition to proof of vaccination/recovery, a negative PCR test or proof of a booster jab is required.

The government there also announced that vaccines will become mandatory for all citizens older than 14 years from 1 February 2022, a world first. Those that refuse will “face fines of up to 3,600 euros ($4,071) every three months”, as reported by Al Jazeera.

Seoul, South Korea

Protests in Seoul have grown significantly since the South Korean government announced that from February 2022, those aged 12 or older will have to show a vaccine pass to enter public spaces, including private tuition centres, libraries and study cafes. The exemption age is currently 17 years.

London, United Kingdom

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Protests in Melbourne have taken place every week for several months, as they have in Paris.

Tragically, a man was driven to such despair by the mandates and restrictions that he set himself on fire on New Year’s Day, shouting “No Vax ID”. This took place on Church Street in Richmond in the evening.

Canberra, ACT, Australia

Protestors set fire to Old Government House in Canberra on 29 December 2021, in a demonstration of opposition to vaccine mandates.

It is clear that those who oppose vaccine passports and the segregation of their communities by covid vaccination status are not going to be easily pacified, nor the protests quelled.
