United We Stand demands Government Immediate Revocation of CVC Order or face Judicial Review

This morning an official request is being sent to Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and COVID-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins. The letter will request the Covid Vaccination Certificate Order’s immediate revocation or amend it to remove the CVC requirement.

If the CVC requirement is not removed by 4 March 2022, ‘United We Stand’ has instructed their legal team to apply for a judicial review of the Order.

A current member of the NZDF and United We Stand had this to say: “Limitations on fundamental human rights such as the vaccine passport system should only be imposed as long as they are justified and then immediately removed. Emerging evidence is making it apparent that the vaccine passport system achieves little in controlling the spread of COVID-19 yet is a huge disruption to business and a major breach of individual human rights.

We don’t want to hear promises of it being removed in a few weeks; this system needs to be removed immediately.”

What is ‘United We Stand’?

‘United We Stand’ is a group of current and former Police and NZDF employees. They oppose the mandatory use of CVC, which are required in certain situations by the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Protection Framework) Order 2021.

On Friday, 25 February 2022, the High Court agreed with the challenge to the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Specified Work Vaccinations) Order 2021 and ruled that it was unlawful.

In reaching its decision, the High Court considered expert evidence from both parties. It determined that although vaccination can reduce the severity of symptoms, it is significantly less effective at preventing the transmission of COVID-19, which is now endemic in New Zealand.

The CVC requirement does not prevent or limit the risk of the outbreak or spread of COVID-19, which is the purported purpose of the Order.

Spokesperson Gavin Scott-Petersen has advised that “We appear to have saved Police and Military jobs for now and still have a fight ahead to get back into the roles we previously held. To enter a Police Station or onto NZDF Land, which is currently only accessible if you are vaccinated and secure the jobs of non-constabulary Police Employees, Civilian Defence Personnel, Contractors and Visitors affected by internal Policy changes.

Many more within New Zealand have not been so lucky and have lost their jobs. We now stand with those who have suffered the loss of income because of the mandates. We will legally challenge every Order we believe is unjust and breaches fundamental human rights.

We will respect and uphold the Bill of Rights Act.”
