On Tuesday night (31st May, 2022) in a truly astounding moment of live television, Justine Smith, a celebrity co-host on TV3’s The Project, seemingly admitted to an act of assault on peaceful pro-life protestors in Auckland.

Initially the other hosts laugh about this assault, but then watch as regular show host Kanoa Lloyd suddenly realises (or maybe a producer alerts her) that Smith has just admitted to a criminal act against peaceful protestors on live television. Lloyd immediately tries to cover for Smith as she reaches across the desk to touch her hand to try and stop her talking. Justine Smith doesn’t seem to understand the lifeline she is being thrown in that moment, and instead doubles down on her admission by indicating where her pro-life victim was hit.
