So Much For The ‘Be Kind’ Message From Jacinda

By Mel Taylor

After 19 years of caring for people, a passionate registered nurse named Chloe has finished her last shift.

She was seeking an exemption from the Covid-19 third injection, referred to as a “booster”. She was in fear for her safety as she had experienced a traumatic adverse reaction to the injection.

The authorities rejected Chloe’s plea.

And when she chose to not take the booster, she was summarily refused the right to work as a nurse.

On the international day for nurses, Chloe put out the following message:

“Today is international nurses day. This is my medal of honour, something I worked so hard to achieve. A vocation handed down through the generations in my whanau. A career in which I am passionate about, a career in which I love and sadly a career which is being snatched from right underneath me.

In a months time I will no longer be able to practice as a nurse. The government have decided this fate for me. Apparently suffering from ECG changes and cardiac issues is no reason for an exemption. Because my heart was not irreversibly damaged they have deemed it safe for me to have the ?. They may take my career, but they will never take my medal. I am and always will be a nurse…. A nurse who stood in her honour and in her truth.

Happy international nurses day to all of those beautiful souls saving lives on the daily I salute you ?❤️✨

And just recently, Chloe posted a heartbreaking update:

Chloe’s video has gone viral, with most comments being of love and support. Other ex-nurses have spoken out and shared their stories in the comments, including:

Sandra:

“Not right at all. Sorry to hear this Chloe. I resigned before the mandates last year, just can’t give my patients the standard of care they need and deserve in an 8 hour shift. The mandates were what gave me the push to resign after 21 years nursing. Never thought I would of resigned and not going back either. Really hope you get an exemption or am able to return to nursing.”

Megannan:

“Kia Ora Chloe, thank you for sharing. I have shared to FB. It’s so hard to get anyone to care about other people these days. I am unable to work as a child therapist because I won’t get jabbed. I do believe the government wants us sick and sad, easier to control us that way. Hope you have good people to support you at this time. Kia Kaha.”

Wendy:

“I am feeling for you. Lost my nursing career in Nov 2021 after 47 years. My exemption was also declined even though an allergy to PEG.”

An article by Newshub yesterday looked at the growing numbers of New Zealanders heading overseas for opportunities was inundated with comments highlighting mandates and the cost of living in New Zealand creating nationwide staffing shortages.

To our Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

Your ‘Be Kind‘ slogan is continuing to fall apart.

Not helping and being responsible for all the people losing their careers due to mandates, disgraceful working conditions, unfair pay and the escalating increases for the cost of living is not kindness.

Proclaiming ‘kindness’ as New Zealand’s Prime Minister should follow being realistic with solutions to problems. You appear to be unaware of what is even happening to good people in our country.

Maybe it is time you refresh your understanding of what kind actually means.
