Residents Not Warned About Council Green Light To Blow Floodbanks

By TeKāhu

A bombshell has been dropped during an interview between Island Girl View’s Leao Tildsley and Pakowhai volunteer boss Zeb Jackson.

During a community meeting in Pakowhai, one of the worst cyclone-damaged areas in the country, locals confronted flood-recovery bureaucrats about an alarming rumour; that the council had given the green light for an excavator to blow the flood banks:

After my discussion with Pete yesterday, I wanted to hear straight from the source about what was really said in this community meeting, and whether the council really did make a plan to blow the banks in Pakowhai, without informing residents in the area that their very lives would be at risk.”

The following video uses footage from Ben, from local media organisation, Hawkes Bay App.
