Media, Academics and the Politicians’ “River of Filth”

By Elliot Ikilei.

For the past three weeks, the anti-mandate protesters have been subjected to what I believe is a withering combination of misinformation and disinformation by politicians, mainstream media and academics.

This taxpayer-funded axis has been consistent in sending out a plethora of allegations that have been consistently debunked by

  1. the significant lack of evidence to prove the allegation, and
  2. the significant amount of Livestreams proving the opposite

One such allegation was articulated in Labour’s Michael Wood’s shocking and smearing speech, in which he described the protestors’ environment as “a river of filth”, “violence”, “menace”, “anti-Semitism”, “Islamophobia”…the usual Wokeisms we have become used to in the current culture of Progressive suppression of debate.

Not to be outdone by Labour, the mainstream media actually prefaced this particular smear line by releasing articles containing such allegations as “protesters at Parliament dumping raw sewage into stormwater drains” (1News), “officials investigate the tipping of raw sewage into stormwater drains in the anti-mandate occupation area” (Stuff), and other comments by ‘reporters’ and commentators.

Unsurprisingly, Stuff has even interviewed “an officer” who allegedly stated that “I swear those portaloos are not only a health hazard, but they are weapons of mass destruction”.

So, are they?

The Daily Examiner’s John Taylor spoke with Guy, a builder who gave a full and frank explanation of the sanitation system, the civil contractor protestors who worked to build install the plumbing and ablution block. And whether the sewage goes into the stormwater and then directly into the sea?

Have a look and listen:

Stuff has, at the very least, finally admitted that the protestors have set up a functioning ablution system as “Wellington City Council has now confirmed are flushing into the city’s wastewater sewer network” (Stuff).

As for the axis of taxpayer-funded groups flooding our people with allegation after allegation, I think the time has come to confront their misinformation and disinformation with the truth.

In the words of the great George Washington:

“Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains to bring it to light.”

So, no matter the pain, let us suffer it in bringing the truth to light.
