Our national anthem is beautiful. It is traditional, and based on the foundations our country was laid upon.  The anthem should be something that encourages and positively influences us, something to be proud of, and something to inspire patriotism.

From dissension, envy, hate, and corruption guard our state.”  As our country divides into a two class system, these words from the anthem will have people on both sides shaking their heads in disbelief at how far removed we are from those nine words.

There are many multiple and opposing factions within New Zealand, with each one proclaiming to be ‘just and right’, and little tolerance towards each other.
