Last week an independent, roughly produced song was released in the heartland of the US.
Today, it is a worldwide phenomenon, aligning with the observations and severe disillusionment of millions of citizens across Western culture.
The song has continued to cause ripples with Left-wing Mainstream Media journalists calling it ‘fatphobic’ and ‘attacking other poor people’, with even tones of white supremacy being thrown in.

Independent media company, Reason, have just released a satirical ‘response’:
Parody of "Rich Men North of Richmond" written and performed by @GoRemy:
"I've been working till the break of 4:45
I get an automatic raise and I can't be fired
Must wait to age 57 till I can retire
With an inflation-adjusted pension that somehow keeps going higher" pic.twitter.com/3Zc1fHrNYI— reason (@reason) August 25, 2023
In the latest Republican debate, which had the notable absence of Donald Trump, Mr Anthony also called out panellist attempts to align with the song he had made.
NEW: Oliver Anthony blasts Fox News for using his song ‘Rich Men North of Richmond’ at the GOP debate, says it made him “crack up” because he wrote that song about “those people.”

With such an uncovering of deep disillusionment towards governments across Western culture, will this song add to the simmering undercurrent heading into culture-wide elections?
