Brian Tamaki Arrested This Morning

Brian Tamaki was  arrested this morning at 8am at his home, and is currently being taken by the Police to Mount Eden Remand Centre.

Mr Tamaki is facing charges for breach of bail conditions.

He will be appearing in front of a Judge this afternoon.

The Freedom & Rights Coalition is currently live streaming a video on their Facebook page. The video includes a live feed of Brian Tamaki’s daughter videoing the Police mufty car with Brian in it, which is currently travelling toward Mount Eden. The other part of the live stream has two presenters discussing the unfolding events.

The presenters are encouraging  people to turn up to Mount Eden Remand Centre to protest Mr Tamaki’s arrest and stand for freedom,  citing “there is power in numbers”.  People have already began to gather at the facility. The video currently has over 1000 views and growing.

Today’s arrest comes as vaccinations are made available for chilren.

9.30am

The Police vehicle taking Brian Tamaki to Mount Eden Remand Centre is currently being blocked from entering the facility.

Protestors have gathered and preformed a powerful Haka right in front of the car.

9.35am

The protestors have moved aside and Police are currently setting up barricades.

3pm

Brian Tamaki is set to appear in Court.

Hundreds have gathered to protest against Mr Tamaki’s arrest.

Brian Tamaki is to remain in custody at Mt Eden Prison for 10 days, after his bail application was refused.
