An Interview with Peter Williams

By Bob McCoskrie

Peter Williams probably needs very little introduction. Peter worked continuously in broadcasting for half a century, after starting in radio as a teen.

In 1979 he joined TV One as a sports show host and commentator and went on to present at the Olympics and the Rugby World Cup. In the mid-1990s, he moved to the newsroom, reading the news on both Breakfast and prime-time weekend bulletins on TV One, before moving back to radio in 2019 on Magic Talk. TV Guide readers voted him their favourite newsreader in both 2010 and 2011.

Listen in as Bob McCoskrie and Peter Williams have a conversation about some key issues affecting New Zealand, including freedom of speech & religious freedom, ‘cancel culture’, proposed hate speech laws, the role of family and marriage, media bias, social engineering, and can conservative views still be held – and more importantly, shared – in New Zealand today?
